Counselor & Coach
You are likely here, because you are looking for guidance in coping with difficult problems or trying to make positive changes in your life. I understand that choosing a professional to work with can be difficult and feel overwhelming. What's different about my style and approach is that I try to truly meet you where you are at with compassion, care, and without any judgement. In order to heal, we all need a space without pressure or expectations to freely express, feel, and grow. I am able to hold space for this, because of my personal experiences with trauma, as well as my genuine respect for and willingness to learn from each one of my clients. I look forward to learning more about you and assisting you on your healing journey.
My Story
Background & Personal Journey:
After overcoming the life-threatening Necrotizing Fasciitis in 2008, I embarked on my own journey of healing and self-understanding through exploring various modalities and techniques and wish to share what I have learned with others and assist in their healing. Prior to contracting this illness, I received many dreams and messages that something was out of balance within my life and body and eventually foreshadowed my illness. I spent about a month suspended in a medically-induced coma during which time I had many dreams that mirrored what was happening to me on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. I remember one particular dream in which I chose to re-enter the world and live out the rest of my life.
Upon awakening from the coma, I had many challenges to overcome as I could not breath on my own, speak, eat, or walk. However, despite these challenges, I awoke with a renewed sense of the preciousness of life and an incredibly strong will to live. In addition, from this point forward, I developed a greater sense of intuition and experienced an increasing frequency of lucid and healing dreams. From these experiences, I began questioning place greater importance on my inner world and mind-body connection, as well as documenting my own experiences and researching topics related to near death experiences, consciousness, non-ordinary reality, synchronicity, dreaming, and spirituality.

Work Experience:
I have over 10 years of experience in the counseling field and have worked in a variety of settings, including in-home and community-based counseling, hospitals, prisons, eating disorder clinics, homeless shelters, telephonic crisis support, and community mental health settings. This experience has helped me gain a greater perspective and understanding of the mental health system, potential gaps in care, and how to navigate these systems with the best possible outcome for clients.
I have worked with diverse populations with different cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, spiritual, and religious backgrounds and learn more about myself and the world through my clients. I have experience treating individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, bipolar, eating disorders, schizophrenia, psychotic episodes, personality disorders, and sleep disorders, among other issues. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults. I look forward to hearing from you!
Theoretical Orientation:
I utilize a blend of Jungian/depth, existential, humanistic, feminist, and holistic, mindfulness-based orientations with clients. Emotional pain, which is often suppressed in our modern culture, provides us with information that something is out of balance within ourselves, our environment, or in our lives. Jungian Psychology aims to explore and heal emotional pain by uncovering the root problems influencing the individual. Sometimes, depression, anxiety, or other symptoms arise as a result of childhood trauma, dysfunctional relationships, or denying one's true feelings or authentic self. This approach aims to gain a clear understanding of what is creating one's symptoms instead of merely treating the surface-level symptoms. Only from a clear understanding of the problem, can one begin to heal.
